Official statement:

For those wondering, these songs aren’t directly about a certain someone, at least not in detail.

I was seeing this girl just over a year ago, for a short while, around the time I started to write these songs. The songs came first, truthfully. But the experiences I took away and the lessons I learned from our time together helped me complete each thought and, most importantly, tell a story with them as a pair.

Originally I was going to release this two pack under the creative direction of a 'Malcolm & Marie' storyline — a never ending, toxic cycle of the good and the bad in a dysfunctional relationship. I thought the songs mirrored that sort of reality people face.

I decided against that for two reasons. First and foremost, it wasn’t my story to tell. My personal encounter that inspired these songs didn’t reflect such a cycle, and honestly I don’t wish to manifest that on myself either.

The second reason is connected to the first. My experience wasn’t an unpredictable rollercoaster. Rather, it was a sunrise and sunset. Like the song from the marriage scene in 'Fiddler on the Roof'. That’s what the coloration in the cover art represents, at least I did my best to create that effect.

Certain people and certain moments are just that — moments. They live on as memories, but once the sun sets on that encounter, it doesn’t come with you tomorrow.

I’m learning to live in the moment, despite being the type of person who always looks ahead. These Tunez are part of my learning process, healing process.

Appreciate those moments. Hold onto the people and things you love. Release those that hurt you.
